❋ Flowers
The blue flower is the design I used on one of the first ceramic cups I made. Back then, I carved the design into the bone-dry clay with a needle, and after the first firing, filled it in with a blue commercial glaze — I think it was "Blue Hawaii" from Colorobbia. The rest of the cup was coated with a white glaze by the same company. In order to combine old and new, I replaced the white glaze with my own, and again painted the flowers with the original "Blue Hawaii" glaze. This vase might still be far from perfect, but it's a milestone I hold very dear, and it makes me excited for the next time I use the flower design.
